Learn about being a volunteer mentor

Have you considered being a mentor?

Adult mentors are positive role models that can provide emotional support and guidance that enhances a child’s self esteem. This improves positive outcomes for our youth.

United Way is partnering with Big Brothers, Big Sisters and the Children of Promise Mentoring Program to hold a mentoring information/recruitment event and all are invited to learn more about mentoring. You will hear about current needs for mentors in our community and how becoming a mentor can impact a child.

Over 200 individuals have pledged to support and work with children through mentoring, tutoring and reading. We are seeking an additional 300 volunteers.

When: Thursday, January 26, 4:30 – 5:30

Where: Human Services Campus 2nd Floor Conference Rooms, 317 7th Avenue SE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52401

Click here to RSVP or call (319) 398-5372 if you would like to attend our Volunteer Call to Action event.
