A person at Prairie Crest Elementary School is suspected to have contracted whooping cough, according to a letter sent home to parents.
Several cases of whooping cough, also called pertussis, have cropped up in schools around Cedar Rapids during the last two weeks.
College Community School District has set up a section of their website with more information on what parents should do if they think their child has whooping cough.
